RE:      Change to Hourly Substitute Wages

Beginning August 1, 2015, substitute guidelines and wages are being paid at the following rates:

Substitute Teachers who have not taken District approved training.                                                                  $100.00 per day/$12.50 hour


Substitute Teachers who have taken district approved training.                                                                 $175.00 per day/ $21.88 hour


Long Term Substitute (required to do lesson plan, grades, etc.). Teacher is away from their classroom for 10 or more consecutive days and person is a primary substitute(s) assigned to the classroom. (The pay goes into effect from the first day in the classroom). Preference will be given to substitutes with Teacher Certification.  Long Term Substitutes traveling to Farson and Wamsutter may utilize a District vehicle, as available, after completion of the Transportation Department's driver safety training.  Requires approval of the Human Resources Director.                        $185.00 per day/$23.13 hour


*A person who has a current PTSB Standard of Professional teaching certificate and 5 years experience as an educator will be paid $200.00 per day/$25.00 hour.                                                                                                   

*When no local certified substitute teachers or substitute permitted paraprofessionals are available in Farson and Wamsutter, substitute teachers will be reimbursed at the current IRS standard mileage rate for business miles per District Policy DLC. 

*Staff must use the AESOP Sub Scheduling System and communicate with the District Substitute Coordinator, Samantha Gardner.

*Substitutes will be scheduled in half-day or full-day increments only. 

*Substitutes may work a maximum of 29 hours in the District work week, Friday through Thursday, or a maximum of 3.5 days. 

*All substitute teachers will clock in only utilized the District time clock system.  The system will automatically clock substitute out at the following times pertaining to the school assigned for the day: 

In town K-6 Elementary Schools 
Sub Start time: 7:55 a.m.
Half-day clock out: 11:50 p.m.
Full-day clock out: 3:45 p.m.

Sub Start time: 7:00 a.m.
Half-day clock out: 11:00 p.m.
Full-day clock out: 3:00 p.m.

Sub Start time: 7:00 a.m. 
Half-day clock out: 11:00 a.m.
Full-day clock out: 3:00 p.m.

Black Butte HS
Sub Start time: 7:10 a.m. 
Half-day clock out: 11:05 a.m. 
Full-day clock out: 3:00 p.m. 

*Substitutes working in the outlying schools may work a maximum of 29 hours in the District work week, Friday through Thursday, or a maximum of 2.5 days due o the length of the school day and travel time.  Travel time has been accounted in TCP.  The building secretary will only enter the travel time into TimeClockPlus in times of Wyoming inclement weather.
