Intro Message
Hello & Welcome to the District's Swivl Information Page. This page is to share resources to assist our staff with successfully integrating the Swivl Robot in their classroom.
For the 2021-2022 school year, districts no longer have the ability to provide Classroom Based Virtual education. (CBV) This was an emergency, temporary option for the 2020-2021 school year.
Use of Swivl cameras is expected for all lessons. All lessons will be recorded and made available to students (only instruction needs to be recorded). This would be one recording per content area. Staff also have the option to record lessons ahead of time and make those available to students. This will allow students that are absent, quarantined, or in isolation to view the lessons in order to keep up while they are out. Other students could benefit from re-watching lessons on their own time.
Thanks to the elimination of CBV options, students will not have the ability to jump back and forth between CBV and in person. If a student is quarantined or isolated, they will be able to participate in class asynchronously. What does this mean for the Swivl cameras? As we shared last year, these are very powerful classroom tools, and we are very fortunate that we were able to purchase one for each teacher using Covid Relief Grant Funds. As we know from last year, the Swivls are not going away. For this year, in order to record lessons, you will just need to use the Swivl App on your iPad and record to your Swivl cloud account. Directions for doing this can be found here: Recording Lessons with Swivl. There will be no more struggles with Google Meet and using the Swivl at the same time. Check it out. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
