Student Safety: Standard Response Protocol (SRP)

A critical part of keeping our schools safe is how students and staff respond to incidents that may occur on campus. Weather events, fires, accidents, intruders, and other potential threats are all scenarios that we plan and train for regularly with students, teachers, staff, and administration.

Our district uses the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to ensure a clear, consistent approach to safety. In the event of an emergency, actions and directions will be announced over the PA system.

SRP Actions

  • HOLD: "In Your Room or Area" – Clear the halls.

  • SECURE: "Get Inside, Lock Outside Doors" – No one in or out.

  • LOCKDOWN: "Locks, Lights, Out of Sight"

  • EVACUATE: "To the Announced Location"

  • POLICE LED: "Evacuation After a Lockdown"

  • SHELTER: "For a Hazard Using a Safety Strategy"

Students and staff will be trained on these procedures, and drills will be conducted throughout the school year to practice them.
