Vision All students engaged in a variety of learning activities based on a unified curriculum. We are committed to high quality instruction using interventions and enrichments to meet the needs of all students. Teachers are working together to make informed decisions based on data from multiple assessments and sources. Learning targets and expectations for student success are supported through involvement by parents and members of the local community. We strive to create a positive, safe, and caring school family. School Description One of six K-4 elementary schools in Rock Springs, Desert View has a school-wide Title 1 program and is also one of three sites for the Title III (English language learners) program. Through the Title I program and daily individual computerized reinforcement programs, all students at Desert View have the opportunity to receive additional support in learning and behavioral skills. Scholastic Reading Counts, a program which encourages students to read and test on books that are available from the school library, is also used as a reading incentive. In the fall of 2006, the staff at Desert View entered into a partnership with the University of Wyoming to assist in developing future teachers. Student teachers from the UW College of Education will receive their pre-teaching training in selected Desert View classrooms during the second semester of the 2009-10 school year.
